That’s right - I’m participating in another read-a-thon and I intend to do way better than last week’s OUReadathon, especially since this one lasts a whole week. The High Summer Read-a-Thon is hosted by Michelle of The True Book Addict and all of the information and action is taking place on her dedicated read-a-thon blog, Seasons of Reading.
It is a relaxed week-long read-a-thon from 16 July to 22 July and designed for everyone to read at her/his own pace. You can start today, in the middle of the week, or wait for the weekend - that’s right! You don’t even have to participate the whole week (but I’m going to). If you participate and like me, do not live within the central time zone, keep in mind that the beginning and the ending of the read-a-thon will be different for you. Novels and novellas, fiction and non-fiction, adult and young adult books are all acceptable but no children’s books. There may or may not be optional mini challenges hosted by other participants so that we can focus on reading. You do not need a blog to sign up; Goodreads, Facebook, and Twitter are all fine for posting your updates. There are prizes. Finally, follow the fun on Twitter with the #HSreadathon hash tag.
This is really, really sad, but I’m starting with the same goals and even the same damn book as last week (yes, The Woman Reader is freakin’ long and some of it is interesting but not enough for me to read large chunks at a time). I will get further this time. I will!
My goals…finish The Woman Reader (I’m starting at 50% for this read-a-thon) and to get through these other three books:
Wish me luck!
