Question: Activity! Dream cast your current read.

My answer: I am currently reading The Earth Painter by Melissa Turner Lee. The main character, Holly, is a natural redhead with freckles and her love interest Theo, has blue-gray eyes and I think sandy hair (comments are usually made on Holly’s appearance and she just talks about his eyes so I can’t remember if there’s a hair color!). The funny thing is, the girl on the cover doesn’t seem like a natural redhead LOL! So I did a Google Image search and came up with these (below the book cover):

Question: Summer Break is upon us! What would be the perfect vacation spot for you to catch up on your reading & relax?

My answer: Ah, good question. My first choice would be my usual beach spot. There’s nothing like sitting at the beach and reading a good book with the crashing of waves in your ears. My second choice would be camping at a campground where I can lounge under the trees with dappled sunlight everywhere and read. The past few days would have been good for that. *sigh*

Question: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother’s Day, in celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?

My answer: Oh wow, I’m drawing a blank. I mean, I read a lot of books in which parents don’t play a large role. I really can’t think of one. There are parents there but they aren’t really important. Wow, this is hard lol. But Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!

Question: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?

My answer: It’s hard to have a favorite author when there are so many amazing ones out there and you read so much. I would love any author to answer any burning questions I have about their books and characters, even if it would spoil it for me…because in that case, how can you resist?

Question: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

My answer: Ha! The first character that pops up in my mind is Edward Cullen. When I read Twilight for the first time (and this was when that was the only book out), I loved Edward as much as the next chick. He was mine, mine, MINE! Then I picked up New Moon when it came out. And Edward left Bella whether he thought it was good for her or not. He greatly disappointed me. And then Jacob was there, with a larger role and picking up the pieces that were Bella. And then little red cartoon hearts appeared between us! ;)

Question: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

My answer: Hmm, this could get interesting! I would say Will Herondale from Cassandra Clare’s The Infernal Devices and Vincent from Die For Me and Until I Die by Amy Plum. I’d like to see how a Shadowhunter and a Revenant fare against each other!

Question: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

My answer: I’m nervous about any book that will be made into a movie. Although there are some books that made good movies, the movies still never live up to the books. I think Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver is getting closer to being made into a movie and while I absolutely loved the book and think it will make a great movie, I’m still worried about it.

Question: Do you read one book at a time or do you switch back and forth between two or more?

My answer: I like this question. I often read one book at a time. But sometimes there may be circumstances that lead me to read more than one book at a time. Often, if I’m reading more than one book simultaneously, one is an eBook and the other may be a hardcover or an audiobook. Say I’m reading one of my hardcovers, but I’m going somewhere and I don’t trust my hardcover to survive wherever I’m going…then I start a book on my Kindle. I’ve been bad lately. I’ve been “reading” the same audiobook since last November, but that’s because I used to always listen to them in the car and I’m never in the car long enough anymore.

Question: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

My answer: I don’t know. One of the Harry Potter books? Kelly Creagh’s Nevermore? I don’t really pay attention to how many pages books are while I’m reading, or, I guess, any other time. Especially on the Kindle. As for favorites, there are too many of any length book to choose.
